10 INJURED AS HOODLUMS CLASH WITH OPC MEMBERS IN IBADAN
TEN members of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, and a rival group, Gobe, were injured in a clash in Omi-Adio area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, yesterday, as dangerous weapons were reportedly used by the feuding parties.
According to information gathered, about 20 members of the Gobe gang, allegedly led by one Sarafa, attacked some members of OPC at Ido Junction, Monday evening, where an OPC member identified as Adigun was allegedly injured.
A resident, Kabir, said the Gobe boys felt disturbed by OPC members they alleged prevent them from carrying out their criminal activities in the area.
The resident said the notorious Gobe group, apart from injuring OPC members, also inflicted injuries on passers-by.
We learned that the prompt intervention of a team of policemen from the Omi-Adio Police Station prevented the incident from degenerating further.
