IMO APC IMPOUNDS MANDATE AS S'COURT SACKS PDP'S IHEDIOHA, DECLARES APC'S UZODINMA

The Supreme Court on Tuesday voided the election of Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State. A seven-man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, unanimously declared Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the March 9, 2019, governorship election and the validly elected governor of the state. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who read the lead judgment, ordered that the certificate of return issued to Ihedioha be immediately withdrawn. She directed that a fresh certificate of return should be issued to Uzodinma. She also directed that Uzodinma must be immediately sworn in as the Governor of Imo State.

An Association of Tipper Drivers , Toll Gate Branch, Ibadan, Oyo State capital under the leadership of SAHEED MAKINDE, has raised the alarm over alleged threats from the so called cabals closer to the government. The threat, according to the Drivers, was being perpetrated by one Otunba Seye Fagbojuro and his co-travellers after resisting their illegal tickets order. The Drivers,however, say Mr. Seye Fagbojuro and his team have been so untouchable since the inception of the present adminstration under Governor Makinde, alleging that, they used to moving round the state for collecting illegal tolls or unauthorized revenue from Market Traders and Motor Parks, and, also issue fake receipts to justify their illegalities. The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has explained why his administration did not sack the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government chairmen elected during his predecessor, Ayo Fayose’s tenure. He said it was because of his administration’s strict adherence to the rule of law. According to Fayemi, his administration had to allow the PDP council chairmen to complete their tenure, in spite of the allegations against some of them after their probe by the House of Assembly. .Fayemi stated this while inaugurating newly elected chairmen and vice-chairmen of the 16 local government councils. SEYI MAKINDE ABANDONED ALLIES AFTER ELECTION -- BARR SARAFA ALLI

The governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the 2019 election in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, on Wednesday accused Governor Seyi Makinde of abandoning his party after it helped him to win the election. Mr Alli spoke through a statement he personally signed, a copy of which was made available to Premium Times in Ibadan, the state capital. ZLP was one of the political parties that formed an  alliance  with Mr Makinde’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to defeat the candidate of the then ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adebayo Adelabu, in the March 9, 2019 election.
